Paddle-boarding Piran

We will take all the beginners through a short introductory SUP course. In the introductory course, you will get to know the SUP gear, paddle-boarding techniques and learn step by step how to find your balance on the board. Do not be scared of falling into the water – our survival statistics is 99%! 😉

When you feel comfortable on the board, we will paddle past the high cliffs, admire St. George’s church rising above the town in the distance and wonder what awaits us behind the next corner. The view of the town will definitely take your breath away and we will spice up the stand-up paddle-boarding tour with fun and exciting challenges that will definitely put your balance to the test.

You will be able to explore the idyllic seaside town of Piran on your own, wink at the statue of Giuseppe Tartini, Piran’s most famous inhabitant known as the “first violin of Europe”.

You will wander through the small, Venetian-style winding alleys with laundry hanging across the streets. At the church overlooking the town you will be rewarded with a phenomenal view of the Adriatic Sea. Then, full of new impressions, we will return to the embrace of the sea. We will paddle-board back to where we started and drive towards a new adventure – in the underground.

Škocjan caves is a remarkable cave system which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1986. The formations of stalactites and stalagmites are breathtaking and a river flows through the caves that are adorned with innumerable drip stones, curtains and limestone pools. Crossing this river over a bridge is a truly unique experience.

You can leave your phone on the beach because we will capture the best moments with our GoPro camera and share them with you after the tour. 😉

We recommend this seaside escape to every traveller who loves to explore new sport activities and feel the salty ocean breeze in their hair.

What should I wear?

Swimming suits are a must in summer time. You can also wear a t-shirt, shorts, or something comfortable.

We will paddle-board barefoot but for walking around the town of Piran we recommend taking flip flops.

In spring and autumn it can get a little chilly so we recommend wearing a hoodie or something to keep you warm. Because the water can be cold, we can lend you a short wetsuit free of charge; just let us know what size you need.

What to bring with?

A bottle of water, sunscreen and towel. If you plan to visit the Škocjan caves, wear comfortable shoes and a sweater. We also recommend a change of clothes, smile and positive energy.

Who will guide a tour?

The SUP tours are guided by an experienced ASI certified SUP instructor. Because we are trying to provide an all-inclusive and pleasant stand-up paddle-boarding experience, we use very stable Red Paddle Co boards that are perfectly suited for beginners or stand-up paddle-boarders with little experience.

Who can attend the tour?

The sightseeing SUP tours are not physically demanding and are suitable for anyone who knows how to swim, even without any prior knowledge of stand-up paddle-boarding.

Do you wish to wear a life jacket? Just let us know before the tour.

What about children?

They are welcome, of course! They simply adore stand-up paddle-boarding!

Children over 12 years of age can join us on their own SUP board, whereas younger kids can sit at the front of their (experienced) parent’s board where they will enjoy the experience as much as if they were holding the paddle themselves.

For their safety, children will wear life jackets.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Ensuring the safety of paddle-boarders is our number one priority. We can take you paddle-boarding in sunny and cloudy weather, but not in case of heavy rain or strong wind.

If due to a bad weather forecast the SUP tour cannot be rescheduled for the afternoon or next day, we will give you a full refund. Cancellation and refund policy.
