SUP, HIKE AND ENJOY LOCAL EXPERIENCE ON THE HORSE FARM PROGRAM

DAY 1: A GLIMPSE OF LAKE BLED

Welcome to Slovenia! Upon your arrival at the Ljubljana airport in the afternoon, we’ll take the trip to Triglav National Park, a popular green site. We’ll stop at lake Bled along the way, where a hike to a beautiful viewpoint awaits, from which the famous lake with its islet can be admired at all its glory. Then we’ll continue towards the heart of Triglav National Park, Lake Bohinj, where you’ll be accommodated. Following accommodations, you’ll visit a typical Alpine homestead where you’ll get familiar with the local customs and goodies of the Alpine region.

DAY 2:  SUPING ON LAKE BOHINJ

The following day adventures in the middle of the Triglav National Park await for you. Learn the basics of SUPING (stand up paddleboarding) one of the most relaxing sports activities. Enjoy astonishing views from the middle of the lake. If you don’t feel like testing your balance on a sup board or if you simply prefer peace and quiet, away from all the sporty activities there is more than enough places for you where you can relax or refresh yourself in cool, crystal clear waters of Lake Bohinj. In the afternoon join us on a hike through the Valley of Shepherds, across the stunning Mostnica gorge, named by our ancestors after many bridges crossing it (Mostnica- “bridge water”), towards Mostnica waterfall. In the evening we’re leaving the fresh Alpine air and migrate towards the warm Coastal region (ALI Karst region).

DAY 3: SLEEP ON THE HAY, GET  THE FARM EXPERIENCE

Ever imagined yourself as a rancher? You’ll experience living on a local eco horse farm, meet the horses, learn how to brush and set a horse saddle. Awake your crafty side by learning how to make your own soap or candle for a souvenir. For all the gourmet enthusiasts, the local chef will visit us in the evening to host a cooking workshop and cook us some delicious traditional food. To top it all off, spend the night on warm cozy hay!  The setting could not be much more perfect for a peaceful get away from it all, while still combining the fun and excitement.

DAY 4:  EXPERIENCE FREEDOM IN THE SADDLE THROUGH THE UNESCO HERITAGE

Start the day with an exciting, morning horse ride and continue it with a relaxing, short walk towards another viewpoint, where a stunning view extends over wondrous Brkini plain. This often overlooked, but no less wonderful part of Slovenia is special due to its marvelous nature sites. One of them being Škocjan caves, included in UNESCO heritage list due to its marvelous underground canyons.  Following lunch, you’ll be taken back towards the airport so you’ll safely catch your flight that evening.

If you wish to extend your visit, you are more than welcome to stay one more day and discover hidden gems of Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia and explore all the major attractions of historical city center with a romantic medieval castle on a hilltop.
