Lake Bohinj is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia and, in comparison with its neighbour Lake Bled, less known, more remote and immensely tranquil. We will follow the white trails of aeroplanes on our SUPs and observe the snow-capped mountains perfectly reflected in the water.
The SUP tour is the most relaxing way of getting to know the surroundings of Lake Bohinj. But we do have a few fun challenges in store for you that will put a big smile on your face!
In summer, the lake is warm and it will be a delight to take a refreshing dip in the water from our SUP boards!
LEARN. The certified sup instructors will give you a brief introductory stand-up paddle-boarding course. They will tell you everything you need to know about safe and comfortable suping. This means you can join the tour even if you have no previous experience in paddle-boarding.
EXPLORE. After we help you stand on your own two feet and feel safe, the SUP adventure begins. We will glide along the sinuous coast bursting with greenery and stop in the middle of the lake to enjoy a quiet meditation in the embrace of the mighty Julian Alps.
RELAX & REMEMBER. Complete relaxation in the middle of the lake while surrounded by an awe-inspiring nature, games that will challenge your balance, group photos of splashing in the water are the moments that will stay with you long after the tour is over. And we have your photos covered – we will send them to you after the tour!

The SUP tour starts at the Vogel Hostel. The Bananaway sup spot is just next to the lakeside, so look for a Bananaway instructor dressed in a yellow t-shirt and meet him or her 10 minutes before the tour starts.

A friend and I did the Lake Bled & Lake Bohinji tour, we have been paddle boarding for over 3 years in various across the world but I have to say this was a stunning location with great instructors, they went out of their way to make the tour enjoyable and we had a fantastic time. The equipment was top of the range and their knowledge was incredible. I would definitely recommend them as the best SUP company in the area.
Just wear something comfortable, for example a T-shirt, shorts and a swimming suit. You never know – you might need a refreshing dip in the water! We will paddle-board barefoot, so we recommend that you come in flip-flops which you can simply put on the SUP board.
In spring and autumn it can get a little chilly so we recommend wearing a hoodie or something to keep you warm. Because the water can be cold, we can lend you a short wetsuit free of charge; just let us know what size you need.
The SUP Tours are guided by an experienced and certified SUP instructor. Because we are trying to provide an all-inclusive and pleasant stand-up paddle-boarding experience, we use very stable Red Paddle Co boards that are perfectly suited for beginners or stand-up paddle-boarders with little experience.
They are welcome, of course! Children over 12 years of age can join us on their own SUP board, whereas younger kids can sit at the front of their (experienced) parent’s board where they will enjoy the experience as much as if they were holding the paddle themselves.
